As publishing fees for peer-reviewed manuscripts can be costly, Ola HAWAII can assist investigators who have received current and past Ola funding support (includes Studio and Core Bucks Awardees) in publication costs. Ola HAWAII will provide 50% of publication costs per peer-reviewed publications. Publications will need to cite the Ola HAWAII Program with the following verbiage: “The project described was supported by Grant Number U54MD007601 from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities.”
All publication support requests should complete the REDCap application form. Publication support funding decisions will be based on the applicant’s research productivity, quality and potential impact of manuscript, and journal quality and standing.
Eligible Investigators
Funding to support up to 50% of the publication costs require the following:
1) Health Disparities manuscript approved by the publisher;
2) Current or prior Ola HAWAII funding:
- Award Recipient (R-Investigator, Pilot, Administrative Supplement) – from Cycle 1 (1997-2022) or Cycle 2 (2022-2027);
- Core Bucks recipient or Research Studio participant;
- Ola HAWAII Program Faculty/Staff (Ola HAWAII Core, Sub-Core faculty)
Priority will be given to Interdisciplinary collaborations between investigators from different academic disciplines or units at UH.
