  • Research area: Basic and translational research that builds on early discoveries that show translational potential for clinical relevant strategies

  • Award period: One year
  • Number of awards given: 10

The Irene Diamond Fund/AFAR Postdoctoral Transition Awards in Aging

  • Who is eligible: Senior postdoctoral fellows
  • Research area: Translational aging research focused on basic aging discoveries that have a clearly articulated pathway towards clinical relevance
  • Amount of award: $120,000
  • Award period: Two years
  • Number of awards given: 7

Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program

  • Who is eligible: Allopathic or osteopathic medical students in good standing, who will have successfully completed at least one year of medical school at a U.S. institution by June 2019.
  • Stipend level: Approximately $1,980 per month
  • Program period: 8-12 weeks
  • Number of scholarships given: Up to 100
