2023 RCMI Consortium National Conference
On behalf of the Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI) Conference Organizing Committee, the RCMI Principal Investigators, Faculty and Staff, and the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) Program Officers and Project Scientists, we are pleased to invite you to the 2023 RCMI Consortium National Conference that will be held in Bethesda, Maryland, from April 12 to 14, 2023.
The Conference theme is Inclusive Excellence, and the scientific sessions and oral and poster presentations will showcase the best science across the 22 RCMI Institutions. Following opening remarks by NIMHD Director, Dr. Eliseo Perez-Stable, Dr. Marie Bernard will highlight NIH Workforce Diversity Initiatives and Funding Opportunities. The Opening Session will also highlight state-of-the-art research conducted at NIGMS, NHLBI, NIAID, and NCI by Leaders Dr. John Lorsch, Dr. Garry Gibbons, Dr. Wilson Compton, and Dr. Douglas R. Lowy, respectively. Also, an update on NIMHD evaluation of the RCMI Program, as well as an update on the progress of the RCMI Coordinating Center in defining common metrics and data collection standards for evidence-based evaluation of the RCMI U54 Centers will be provided.
Concurrent workshops will feature the following RCMI areas of special emphasis and research collaborations: (1) Investigator Development Consortium; (2) Community Engagement and Evaluation Consortium; (3) Data Collection, Profiles, MPI Finder demos; (4) NRMN Alumni Networking and Research Collaboration; (5) RCMI Clinical Research Network Multi-Site Collaboration; (6) Data Science Collaboration; and (7) NIAID Collaborations between CFARs and RCMIs on HIV/AIDS. These and other workshops will introduce how the 22 RCMI U54 Centers can showcase their scientific discoveries and community health impact with the new RCMI Consortium website, as well as share solutions on efficient data collection for progress reports, evaluation, and other research-related deliverables.
We would be delighted to have you attend this conference and/or submit an abstract for a poster presentation. Your participation will contribute to the success of this program and to the RCMI theme of Inclusive Excellence.
