Administrative Core

The Administrative Core will provide the overall administrative and fiscal support and oversight, as well as coordination, of all Ola HAWAII-related initiatives, including the oversight of career development activities and the evaluation of the Cores and Center. The leadership will also actively seek additional funding opportunities to enhance infrastructure related to health disparities research, with the overall goal of achieving health and wellness for the communities in Hawaii, which suffer disproportionately from ethnic, environmental and socioeconomic disparities in health and healthcare access. The Administrative Core and the cores for Investigator Development, Research Infrastructure and Community Engagement (each described in greater detail elsewhere) will be co-located on the JABSOM campus, allowing frequent formal and informal interactions. The location of the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work, with its Department of Social Work and Office of Public Health Studies, and the School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene (SONDH) on the main Manoa campus will facilitate information exchange and dissemination, transdisciplinary research partnerships and overall promote campus-wide integration.
